Several of our students auditioned for Junior Clinic, or All Lower East Band recently. They learned a prepared piece, memorized their scales, and sight read one piece. Students from Chattanooga to Lenoir City participated, and the top students were placed in Blue Band, Red Band, and 7th Grade Band. If you see any of these students, please congratulate them.

The band has been asked to play at the Tailgate event, September 15th. This is an exciting Normal Park tradition. They are working very hard to prepare their music. Attendance is required so please mark your calendars and make arrangements. Dress: We are playing the music from Superman, so wear a superhero shirt. If you don’t have a superman shirt, wear either a solid blue (a Normal Park shirt is fine) or solid red shirt. Wear pants without holes. Materials: Students will need a marching lyre to play their music. 4:30 – Students arrive outside the band room. 5:15 – Students play “The Star Spangled Banner.” We will play pep band music through the first and second quarter. At halftime, we will play our Superman music. Students will be released to their families after halftime. They are going to do a great job! We will also use the Remind App to communicate special events. This will send messages to any device notifying you of important information.
